Compare DVD Rentals - Compare Blockbuster and Netflix

Much has changed in the online DVD rental business over the past couple of years.  Netflix used to stand alone as the only company offering this service.  As they grew more successful other companies have joined the industry.  As Blockbuster, Wal-Mart, DVD Avenue and others have begun service it has only benefited YOU the customer.  Prices have fallen and service is improved.

Advantages to Online DVD Rentals

Renting DVDs online has changed the way we watch movies.  There are no more long lines at the video stores, no racing to get the movie back by noon and no more late fees.

Online DVD rentals offer convenience, large selection (usually 3 times what a typical video store has in stock) and a fixed price that includes Free Shipping both ways which saves you money.  You are allowed to keep the movies as long as you want so you can watch the movies when it is convenient for you and not the movie store.

Which Company to Choose?

The online DVD rental business is booming, but which companies will survive for the long run.  We predict that NetFlix and Blockbuster will do very well.

NetFlix is the world's largest online dvd rental company with over 6,000,000 customers and their attention to details and customer service have won them a cult following.  (For more information on Netflix, visit our NetFlix DVD Rentals Page).

Blockbuster is one of the biggest names in the movie rental business and it was a natural fit for them to start renting DVDs online.  Their service is comprable to Netflix yet they offer something that no other online DVD rental company can and that is you can return your movies to any Blockbuster store and you get a free In-Store movie rental for Free each month which is included in your online rental monthly fee.  Blockbuster also has a lower price than Netflix, combined that with the coupons for in-store rentals and Blockbuster must be given serious consideration.
